En El Retiro Antioquia con ceremonia solmene en el teatro municipal Lázaro Villa Cadavid, la geóloga, historiadora y artista Gold Power Vélez presentó y donó sus obras más importantes a la casa de Gobierno de este municipio.

“Resset” “Water, the unconscious opulence” y «Ellas ¡tan borrascosas!» podrán ser apreciadas por los habitantes de este bello municipio del oriente de Antioquia y por sus visitantes.

«Night of Gold» será expuesta en el Instituto de Cultura y Patrimonio de Antioquia

«Gold´s Delta» tendrá su lugar en la secretaría de minas de Antioquia

El mensaje de estas y de todas las obras de la artista es el mismo, generar una conciencia individual de como nos percibimos en el mundo y como nos hacemos de sus recursos para adoptarlos en todo lo que nos colorea hoy como sociedad.

Gold utiliza oro en cada una de sus obras, en mayor cantidad obtenido de dispositivos electrónicos, médicos y militares de época, también proveniente de aluvión extraído de manera limpia, y oro en escarcha (hojas).

The message in these and all of the artist's works is the same, "to generate an individual awareness of how we perceive ourselves in the world and how we make use of its resources to adopt them in everything that colors us today as a society"
Gold uses gold in each of his works, mostly obtained from vintage electronic, medical and military devices, also from cleanly mined alluvium, and frosted gold (leaves).

Cada una de sus obras es un homenaje al agua, al aire a los mineros artesanales del país y del mundo, en ellas se conjuga minería, vida y arte. Es importante resaltar que estas obras son únicas en el mundo, no existe ninguna otra iniciativa que promueva a través del oro en al arte, un mensaje individual, que como lo expone la artista, es suficiente para cambiar el mundo.

Each of his works is a tribute to the water, to the air, to the artisanal miners of the country and the world, in which mining, life and art are combined. It is important to highlight that these works are unique in the world, there is no other initiative that promotes an individual message through gold in art, which, as the artist explains, is enough to change the world.

En su mensaje la artista promueve además un mensaje de unidad entre ciudad, minería y medio ambiente, invitando en primera a instancia a los ciudadanos a tener una conciencia más profunda y menos autómata en su manera de vivir y demandar recursos de la tierra, y a la industria minera a realizar un trabajo cada vez más responsable y en armonía con el medio ambiente.

In her message, the artist also promotes a message of unity between the city, mining and the environment, inviting citizens in the first place to have a deeper awareness and less automaton in their way of living and demanding land resources, and to mining industry to carry out work that is increasingly responsible and in harmony with the environment.

En esta ceremonia solemne participaron representantes de academias, grupos de investigación de la Universidad Nacional, el director de Patrimonio Minero de la UNAL el doctor Luis Hernán Sánchez, la secretaria de Minas de Antioquia en cabeza del doctor Jorge Jaramillo Pereira, la Gobernación de Antioquia a través de la directora del Instituto de Cultura y Patrimonio de Antioquia, Marcela Isabel Trujillo Quintero, el asesor de Ecominería para el gobierno departamental, el doctor Alfonso Monje. Representantes de gremios mineros del Bajo Cauca, entre ellos la doctora Erika Gracia y personalidades locales y nacionales del gremio artístico y cultural.
